Why the Terrorist’s Will Not Win!

While there is no doubt that terrorism is a shameless way to achieve political goals, we must first understand why terrorism exists in the first place.  The radical fundamentalist in the Middle East is no different than the Leaders of our country.  Old men are using the sons and daughters of others to carry out their political objectives.  What they cannot achieve across the negotiating table, they hope to do so militarily.

Anybody with an iota of common sense realizes that the root of the problem is the conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians.  And what the Arab world perceives to be that Israel is in fact America’s fifty-first state.  I recently wrote a piece that America must act as an honest broker between negotiating the peace.  Negotiations are a euphemism for compromise.  Nobody gets everything they want but you get enough that you are happy to split the difference.

Like Americans, most Israelis and Palestinians trend toward the center.  Why is it that the fringes of the parties are allowed to set the agenda?  With the vast wealth of the United States being siphoned off to the oil producing states the next president should convene immediately a meeting of the prime minister of Israel and the leader of the Palestinian Authority and say this is how it’s going to be.  You have a certain number of days to produce a binding agreement or all U.S. aid is terminated immediately.  Watch how quickly an agreement is produced.

The next step is to withdraw our troops from Iraq.  It is time for the Iraqis to stand up for themselves.  After six years of training, if they cannot stand up for themselves, then they deserve whatever they get.  I did basic training in six weeks, technical school in six weeks, and finally, my secondary security specialist training in less than a month.

While it won’t be easy to achieve these things we need not be our own worst enemy in achieving our goals.  If we give other nations the chances and the means to work out their conflicts without favoring either side, those in the center will ensure that those on the fringes become less influential.  And therefore, less threatening to American interest.  When will Americans realize that our hegemony is the root of the problem?

Game Day! Part 2

It was a good day for the Rattler Nation.  Not only did we beat the Alabama State University Hornets by a score of 30-20, The Marching 100 put on a spectacular show embarrassing the band from A.S.U.  There were several big plays that I will not get into.  You can read about it in the Tallahassee Democrat tomorrow.  I want to talk about the ambiance and the atmosphere surrounding the event.  A HBCU football game is more than just the game.  The bands play an integral part as well.  Its two competitions in one and the Rattlers did not disappoint.

The funny thing about my day was at the very start of the game.  A brief rain shower broke out.  Actually, it was little more than a drizzle.  Now you have to understand that black women and rain do not mix.  Two drops of rain and there is a stampede to get under the stands.  Nothing is going to ruin that hairdo she dropped fifty dollars on the day before.  Fortunately the rain only lasted a few minutes and they returned to their seats.

The other funny thing is that I was sitting in front of what I would call the hater’s club.  There were three young women sitting behind me hating on everyone and everything they saw.  The things I heard had me rolling in my seat laughing my ass off.  “That’s the worst weave in the world girl, the hair from the horse’s tail was cut yesterday” one said.  Another zinger was “Her shorts and high heels is an advertisement saying open for business!”  I could barely contain myself.  Hating is a serious business between women in the community.  For those of you who don’t know what hating is I will include a clip for your amusement.

The game was kind of close until the third quarter when we finally put it away.  Then the fun started with the bands trying to outdo each other in the stands.  The only annoying thing is when I went to go smoke a cigarette at halftime I lost my third row seat at the forty yard line.  Bragg Stadium is pretty much open seating excerpt for one section.  Trying to get someone out of your seat is like trying to get clockereader or kristihatescrocs to write something original and truthful.

Anyway, I sat in the stands after the game and listened to the band go through its post game repertoire and for a moment I did not have a care in the world.  It was indeed, a good day.

p.s. I couldn’t find the hater’s ball clip but did find its sequel the time haters.

(for amusement purposes only).

The day is finally here.  The beginning of the FAMU 2008 season starts today!  I’m about to get my tail gate on!  I’ll blog about my experience tomorrow.  I hope that whatever team you root for wins as long as it is not Alabama State.  Also, coming soon, see how BatBarack saves the day!

Answer my Question Pastor Hagee!

I saw a clip where Pastor Hagee blames everything on gays and lesbians!  I have a question for him after the clip.

So Pastor Hagee, with a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico and a tropical storm in the Atlantic Ocean, does that mean that there has been an exponential spike in Homosexual activity?  And are we as a nation all doomed because of it?  I would have addressed this to Jerry Falwell but of course he is dead.  Say hello to Pastor Ted for me!

Hello Sarah Palin!

Congratulations on your pick to be John McCain’s vice-president!  It’s quite impressive that now we will have either the first black president or the first woman vice-president.  Your selection, however, shows just how desperate the McCain campaign is.  You have only delivered to McCain what he already had; the Republican base and the state of Alaska with its three electoral votes.

Somehow I think that you are being used as a tool to try and win over the disgruntled Hilary voters.  Sorry, it isn’t going to work.  The Hilary voters do not care that you hunt and fish.  They don’t care that you like moose burgers.  And they don’t care that you are a lifelong card carrying member of the NRA.  What they do care about is that like your running mate despite you being a woman, you are against the issues that are important to the Hilary crowd.

Let’s take Roe vs. Wade for example.  You’re on the record that you don’t believe in abortion under any circumstances.  That’s to the right of your would be boss.  I guess the life of a fetus is more important than the health of the mother.  Should she have to carry to term because she was raped?  But that’s all I know about you except that you are under investigation for trying to get your brother-in-law fired.  I checked out this site to see your positions on the important issues. Seems like you don’t have any.

Where Sarah Palin stands on the big issues

Tod Robberson  Dallas Morning News  http://dallasmorningviewsblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/08/postion-on-the.html

For a good, quick, dispassionate insight into Sarah Palin’s position on the major issues facing our nation, go to.  OnTheIssues.org, which records politicians’ votes and statements to assess their positions on important topics.

What’s her position on foreign policy? Oops, I’m afraid there’s no entry there.
What’s her position on free trade? Opps, I’m afraid there’s no entry there either.
What’s her position on government reform? Hmmm. Nothing there.
How about immigration? Nope. Nothing. Nada.
Wait, certainly she’s got a position on jobs. Sorry. Nothing there.
Technology? Sorry. That does not compute.
Principals and values? I don’t see anything there.
What to do in Iraq? Well, I guess she’ll have to think about it.

Darn. It’s really hard to get any kind of a reading on this substantive vice presidential pick. I guess she’ll have to shoot from the hip on most of these issues. Good luck, America. She’ll be only a 72-year-old heartbeat away from the presidency.

John McCain may be a maverick but he is also an idiot.  One piece of advice Madame Governor, don’t quit your day job!

A Dream Almost Realized!

In two months the American people will cast their votes to elect the next president of the United States of America.  It is essentially a choice between changes or more of the same failed policies.  After a beautiful and well orchestrated convention staged by the Democrats I am convinced that the American people are going to wake up.

I don’t know whether or not if I will watch the Republican convention next week.  Four days of drill, drill, and drill will put me to sleep faster than watching paint dry.  It is the only issue left for the Republicans to run on.  And watch how many times the words Commander in Chief comes up.  McCain often cites Obama’s inexperience but just selected Alaska governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.  She’s been governor for less than two years and was the mayor of a town of 9,000 people before that.  This is a perfect example of the lack of quality judgment by McCain.  America is starting to wake up.

Yesterday, on the 40th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s historic I Have a Dream speech Barack Obama in a masterful speech accepted the Democratic nomination to become the next president.  He fully articulated his agenda on what America needs to do to restore her rightful place in the international community and what needs to be done here domestically.  American eyes are opening.

On November 4, 2008 it is the duty of all Americans to get out and vote.  The election will go long into the night.  Some of us will stay up until the networks call the race.  Others will wake up on November 5, 2008 to learn whether or not Martin Luther King’s dream came true.  Somehow I feel that it will!

News You Can’t Use! Edition 3

What is this world coming to?  The screen on my cell phone went blank a while ago and it was still under warranty so my provider sent me a new one.  I got my bill online yesterday and found out that I was charged an extra $10 for their trouble.  And McCain wants to give these Robber Barons a tax cut…WTF!

Tropical Storm Fay has been over for quite some time now and I still haven’t gone out to clean up and mow the yard.  I am trying to decide whether or not I am just lazy or protesting the theft of my lawnmower.  Anyway, the neighbors are starting to look at me funny and I’d better get out there before someone calls the yard police.  And I don’t need that charge on my utility bill.  I’m off to the Home Depot to buy a new mower and if the thief is reading this, it will have bio-technology built into it.  If it doesn’t recognize your fingerprints it will self destruct and blow your ass up!

I don’t have seven homes like John McCain or wear $500 Ferragamo loafers. It is a little troubling that he can’t remember that.  But I do have seven rooms in my home and an old pair of Jordan sneakers.   Does that make me an elitist?

According to Democratic Underground:

“We’re delighted to have a real estate debate with Barack Obama,” said (McCain) spokesman Brian Rogers, adding that the press should focus on Obama’s house. “It’s a frickin’ mansion.”
Meanwhile, check out one the McCain’s cribs!
You tell me who has the frickin mansion!

And finally, my 527 attack add against McCain

Yesterday I Shed a Tear!

Crying doesn’t come easy for me.  I did not cry when my father died.  Nor did I cry when my grandfather died.  I did not cry at my daughter’s wedding.  In fact, I can’t remember the last time that I cried.  But for a brief moment yesterday, I did shed a tear.  I was born in the birth of the Civil Rights movement.  Yesterday was a day I thought that I would never see in my lifetime.  Yesterday was the day when Barack Obama became the official nominee for the Democratic Party to be the next president of the United States of America!

I have been disenfranchised with both Bill and Hilary Clinton since the South Carolina primary but both were redeemed yesterday.  Hilary’s gracious act of nominating Obama by acclimation was something I had never seen before.  And Bill’s wonderful speech at the convention was a definite homerun.  It was truly touching to see that the Clinton’s could be so magnanimous!

Today it’s up to Obama!  If his speech is half as good as Michelle’s it will be a grand slam.  Did I shed a tear because Obama is black?  Partly!  But I think that it was primarily for the fact that America can truly live up to its founding ideals.  That all men are created equal!  But is this in and of its self enough?

I would argue that it is not.  America over the past eight years has been going in the wrong direction.  Oil prices have quadrupled.  Our go it alone foreign policy has made us a pariah in the international community.  We are fighting two wars at the same time.  Our infrastructure is slowly falling apart.  And the national debt is out of control.  I don’t know about you but I can’t take another four years of this shit under a McCain administration.  We need new and fresh leadership that Obama will offer if elected.  If that is the case, I might just shed another tear.

The Little Black Man Child!

Last week that pasty pill popping pompous windbag Rush Limbaugh referred to Barack Obama as the little black manchild.  To hear this moron check out the following link.  Why doesn’t he explain being caught at an airport with a suitcase full of Viagra following a visit to a private island off the coast of the Dominican Republic.  He has also referred to Obama as the “magic negro.”  I hope he chokes on a pork chop!

The Tallahassee Democrat Sucks!

The local newspaper that serves our area The Tallahassee Democrat is a sham of a newspaper.  Its tag line is “Promoting democracy since 1905.”  Nothing can be farther from the truth!  This newspaper on its online forums promotes selective censorship.  I had two blogs removed today for simply stating the truth!  There have been more than a few local bloggers who have jumped to Word Press because we are fed up with all of the bullshit going on.

Just to set the stage for you…  I have been one of the local bloggers generating the most traffic.  On this site we have a feature entitled “Most Reader’s Recommended Blogs.”  At one point I had seven of the top ten blogs.  I am not trying to blow my own horn but when I made the move to Word Press someone obviously took offense!  A local reader asked me to post one of my Word Press blogs onto the site and within 30 minutes my blog was deleted.

From this point forward I am deleting my accounts with this organization.  I will never post another blog on this site.  They allow plagiarism to the nth degree.  When an honest attempt is made to refute the blatant lies posted we are denied a legitimate voice to refute the false allegations.  I never thought that in the 21st century that a newspaper organization would deny a voice of reason to set the record straight.   But that is the state of the current Editorial Board!  Marry Anne Lindley is the worst Editorial Page editor that we have ever had.

Freedom of speech is being stifled by this site unless you are a John McCain supporter.  The pro McCain blogs outnumber the pro Obama blogs by a ratio of about 6 to 1.  Fuck the Dixiecrat and its selective censorship!

And one more thing…. Mr. Ensley, please remove your toupee!  You have wrecked a marriage proposal for me!
