Possible Dream Team?

One of my conservative friends asked me what I thought of a John McCain/Rudy Giuliani ticket.  As a Democrat just the mere thought of this has me salivating.  But the realist in me says that it will never happen.  The king of “The Surge” and the king of “9/11” on the same ticket will sink the GOP like the ice berg sunk the Titanic.

John McCain is already on shaky ground with the Republican base.  Bringing Giuliani onto the ticket will make the Evangelicals think that the apocalypse has started.  Republican’s hate Gays and Lesbians.  They also hate the evil baby killers.  Giuliani as mayor of New York City openly supported Gay and Lesbian rights.  He also supported reproductive freedom for women.

Another reason Giuliani won’t be on the ticket is that he is an admitted adulterer and has been married multiple times.  At one point he took up with a divorced nurse and paid her $10,000 a month to be his speechwriter.  Sounds like a high priced hooker to me.  McCain, another member of the cheaters club, can’t afford to have a fellow member as his number 2.  And I thought that the Republicans were the family values party.

Finally, I think that the two of them have unchecked egos and that Giuliani could never be anyone’s number two.  And besides, Giuliani ran one of the dumbest campaigns in the history of campaigns.  Would McCain really want someone that stupid?  If I were a Republican I’d probably want Mitt Romney.  But, then he dumbs down McCain!

Who knows?  He’s the Maverick!  He can be his own vice president in case he dies in office; he can succeed himself.  Those are my thoughts…

    Hi, eehard!!! Okay, you got me to check this out – no wonder you like the site! Interesting thoughts on the “dream team”, it’s kinda like the gamble of the Democrat team. You know that I am a huge Huckabee fan, but know that the country is not ready for this conservative. Not even the Republicans! So, I think the fuss made about Giuliani not being conservative could actually be music to the Republican ears. There is no voice for the conservative, but that is ideal, because conservatives don’t want so much government. Eehard, please keep in mind that the new-age Republican party does not have conservative values anymore. I want to mention that with Huckabee having the social platform is less of a threat to this country than all the others and their social agenda.

    wolfie,

    thanks for stopping by. i hope that you will visit more often. i kind of like huckabee but isn’t he calling for a right to life amendment to the constitution?

    huckabee is a fool. did you not take your medication today EE. Don’t mess with Rudi he is one of my favorite guys. But I agree he carries too much baggage. McCain needs to choose a woman and he will win for sure. He has 3 great choices Rice (who says she wants out) Palin and Hutchison. My bet is Palin.

    LOL Why do you think Huckabee is a fool? And for the record I did take my meds this morning.

    Huckabee does not believe in evolution. He is a militant religious freak who would set the National Government back 100 years. He would empeach judges for barring legislative prayers.My biggest issue with McCain is that he is strong pro life….but Huck is an absolute whacco on Roe V Wade. I don’t think he understands or wants to understand the concept of seperation of church and state. He is in effect advocating a religious oligarchy (as long as he’s at the helm and makes the rules) He belongs in a pulpit not in charge of a state or nation. I think he would satnd a cheer if someone blew up an abortion clinic with people in it. If he is anywhere near national policy it is really time to be afraid.

    Thanks for the enlightenment.

    At this point, I’m not sure if McCain’s VP choice is to :

    (a) bring back Republicans who don’t like McCain;
    (b) bring in independents
    (c) both… but is that really possible?

    I think Rice has too much connection to Bush, which I thought McCain was trying to get away from (assuming she was interested).
