What is the mother of fourteen children to do?  She’s on food stamps, her parent’s home is in foreclosure, she doesn’t have a job, and several of her children suffer from disabilities.  That’s what I call being in a world of shit.  Obviously, she has no visual means of support for her six children already at home let alone the eight preemies still in the hospital.  Because being a dumbazz waits for no man or woman I am naming Nadya Suleman my second dumbazz of the week.  To see why, click here!

Michelle Obama’s Playboy Shocker!

All recent First Ladies have championed social causes.  Nancy Reagan started the war on drugs, which has been an utter failure.  I can step out my front door and order anything like it was a McDonald’s drive through window.  I just might be smoking a spliff right now.  Barbara Bush supported plastic surgeons, too bad she couldn’t find one that could help her.  And Laura Bush spoke up on behalf of women’s rights on the island nation of Lesbos.  In a stuning new developement, the Associated Mess has learned that Michelle Obama and Hugh Hefner have entered into an agreement for a series of photo shoots.

When asked what she hoped to accomplish, Ms. Obama replied “Nothing sells like sex in America and I just want to do my part to help our economy.”  Pressed further, the First Lady went on to say “We’ve entered into an agreement with Mr. Hefner that all proceeds will be donated to the national treasury.  And when you’ve got an ass like mine, the first ass I might add, we are going to sell a hell of  a lot of magazines.”

In a yet to be released press release Playboy will announce that the series will be global and available on the web.  Every second, $3,075.64 is spent on pornography.  By going global we will export enough tits and ass that soon enough, the Chinese and South Koreans will owe us fucking money.  America has been good to the porn industry and know we feel that it is time to give back to America.

On a final note, Mrs. Obama added “Not only will the pictures be tastefully done, they will be accompanied by a series of compelling articles like Why Bobby Jindal and His Caste Loving Ass Should be Deproted and How Born Again Fiscal Conservative Republicans Have Learned Their Lesson.”

Final Thoughts on the Dead Chimp Cartoon!

gameday2

2009-02-18-cartoon1

Up until this point I have been unable to make the connection that the dead chimp cartoon was in effect, a representation of President Barack Obama.  If there is one thing that I have learned in my lifetime is that you can never assume what another human being is or was thinking.  So in the spirit of that way of thinking, I am willing to give the artist a pass.

While it is quite easy to assume that it was a direct reference to Obama, no one can be positively sure unless Delonas comes out and says as much.  What is equally troubling is that now, the head of the NAACP, Julian Bond is claiming that the cartoon is an open invitation for the assassination of the president of the United States of America.  That is a charge that I have trouble accepting and dealing with.  When we start associating satire (however badly it may be) with killing people, then we cross  a dangerous threshold.

New York Post owner Rupert Murdoch aoplogized for the cartoon today and the artist Sean Delonas had some comments too.  http://edition.cnn.com/2009/US/02/24/cartoon.murdoch/  I really think Delonas has issues and if you clicked the link on Dead Chimp part two you’ll understand why.

Our country has a rather nasty history when it comes to depicting blacks, so it easy to see why there was such outrage over the cartoon.  It was tasteless and very far from being funny.  But as we attempt to have this discourse on race in America, it is very important that we don’t look for racism where it does not exist.

Genocide in Darfur, Sudan

About the size of Texas, the Darfur region of Sudan is home to racially mixed tribes of settled peasants, who identify as African, and nomadic herders, who identify as Arab. The majority of people in both groups are Muslim.

In the ongoing genocide, African farmers and others in Darfur are being systematically displaced and murdered at the hands of the Janjaweed, a government-supported militia recruited from local Arab tribes. The genocide in Darfur has claimed 400,000 lives and displaced over 2,500,000 people. More than one hundred people continue to die each day; five thousand die every month.

Government neglect has left people throughout Sudan poor and voiceless and has caused conflict throughout the country. In February 2003, frustrated by poverty and neglect, two Darfurian rebel groups launched an uprising against the Khartoum government.

The government responded with a scorched-earth campaign, enlisting the help of a militia of Arab nomadic tribes in the region against the innocent civilians of Darfur.

Since February 2003, the Sudanese government in Khartoum and the government-sponsored Janjaweed militia have used rape, displacement, organized starvation, threats against aid workers and mass murder. Violence, disease, and displacement continue to kill thousands of innocent Darfurians every month.

Americans have a particularly important role to play in supporting peace in Darfur. The US government has been proactive in speaking out in support of the people of Darfur, but there is still much work that needs to be done. The United States and international governments have yet to take the actions needed to end this genocide.

Long-term peace in Darfur requires that the government of Sudan, the Janjaweed militia forces and the rebel groups of Darfur find a way to resolve their political and economic disputes. The international community managed to broker a peace deal in May 2006, but violence in Darfur actually increased in the wake of this deal.

Thousands of innocent civilians continue to die from murder, disease and starvation every month. Today, millions of displaced civilians living in refugee camps are in dire need of international support as the violence continues.

At this time, human security is the highest priority for the people of Darfur. The world has left the responsibility of providing security to the African Union Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur. As Sally Chin of Refugees International has noted, the world has given the African Union “the responsibility to protect, but not the power to protect.”

We must now work to ensure that the world fulfills its responsibility to protect the civilians of Darfur.
