Death in Afghanistan!

AfghanDeath_83617c

This photo was taken by Judy Jacobson of the Associated Press.  This is what happens when young men are sent off to fight old men’s wars.  Maybe, seeing more images like these will hasten our withdrawal from both Iraq and Afghanistan.  Full the full story, click here.

Bush

Muntader al-Zaidi, the Iraqi shoe hurling reporter, was promptly detained by Prime Minister Maliki’s security detail and by several media reports was beaten like a drum.  Apparently, Mr. al-Zaidi has never seen my staying safe from the police public service announcement.  https://eehard.wordpress.com/2008/08/16/staying-safe-from-the-police/  While it doesn’t specifically mention throwing shoes at the president, had he watched, he would have had a fucking clue.

As much as I despise President Bush, I do take exception with someone attacking the Commander in Chief of the United States of America even if it is with a pair of size ten Hush Puppies.  But to make matters worse, Bush then said that he didn’t care if someone threw a shoe at him and that it is the sign of a free society.   So after hearing that my only regret is that al-Zaidi took an ass whipping and may end up in jail for seven years for nothing.  He should have hit bush square in the nose.  If you’d like a chance to hit Bush with a shoe click here:  http://sockandawe.com/  Ass whippings are not included.

duck

Only 34 more days before W.,  Cheney,  and their merry band of criminals are shown the door.  The next items to be thrown at Bush will be presidential pardons and most of them will not miss their mark!

al Qaeda Endorsed McCain!

gameday2

I read somewhere the other day that al Qaeda was actually endorsing John McCain for president believe it or not.  The premise was that McCain would continue Bush’s occupation of Iraq and the war in Afghanistan thus keeping the terrorists organization with a long and steady flow of recruits willing to blow themselves up to go see Allah and get their freak on with 72 virgins.  I myself would prefer 72 whores who knew what they were doing.  But that’s just me.

With Obama’s plan to drawdown the troops, a recruit might be more inclined to wait it out and get his pussy here on earth.  “You get the fuck out, I get the girl” is a much more preferable option than one of our troops catching an IED in his six.

By endorsing McCain and there were some threats posted on some of the jihadist websites that never materialized, the terrorists hoped to exhaust the military and the treasury while we are in the midst of a financial crisis.  Fortunately, the whack jobs were unable to deliver, which on some level is an indicator that they don’t have the ability to carry out the rumored attacks.

The real beneficiary of our continued presence in the Middle East is Iran as we continue to spend $10 billion a month in the region.  I’ve seen reports but can’t remember the name of the book, that Iran is halfway through its plan to help bankrupt America.  Like Iraq before, Iran has stopped using the Dollar as its oil trading currency, instead opting for the Euro that sealed Saddam’s fate.  Iran has been unable to convince the Saudis from doing it also but the Saudis are nothing more than our lap dogs who like to fly our F-15 and F-16 fighter jets.

When I initially wrote about the Euro being the real reason we went to war with Iraq I was called a cook and a conspiracy theory whack job.  But guess what?  We are now in Iraq and guess what currency is being used to trade that commodity?  I’ve already got my countdown clock running to see how long it is before we let the Israelis do our dirty work.

This is the kind of shit that happens when you refuse to negotiate.  I am glad that we now have a president who will act like a president is supposed to act instead of that twisted emperor with no clothes on that currently resides in the people mansion!  Change the world Obama!  I‘ve got your back!

Kareem Rashad Sultan Khan!

One of my Sunday musts is to watch NBC’s Meet the Press.  It’s not the same without Tim Russert but Sunday would be incomplete without it.  I was eagerly anticipating this morning’s edition with guest Colin Powell appearing.  The speculation was rampant that he would be endorsing Barack Obama for president.  In my local market of Tallahassee, FL, Meet the Press does not air until 11:00 a.m.  I know that it airs earlier in other markets.  So I had the television tuned into MSNBC to see if it would be announced before I got to see it.  And of course, somewhere around 9:15 a.m. it was announced that he indeed did so.

Already knowing what I needed to know I tuned in anyway.  As I said, it’s a ritual.  But what touched me even greater was the brief story that General Powell told about a fallen young American hero.  His name was Kareem Rashad Sultan Kahn.  He died on August 6, 2007 from wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device.  Mr. Kahn was a Muslim.  If you noticed in the above picture there was not a cross or a Star of David.  It is a crescent, a symbol of the Islamic faith.

What you also see in the photograph is a mother grieving over a lost child.  Grieving in the same way that a Christian or Jewish mother would. Grief does not know color. Greif does not know religion.  How courageous this young man must have been to enlist in the United States Army considering the anti-Muslim feelings that pervade this country.  He put his country ahead of his religion.

The latest statistics that I could find are two years old and out of the 1.4 million service members, about 3,700 are Muslims.  That’s a Department of Defense estimate.  So the next time you want to disparage the Islamic faith and brand all Muslims as terrorists please remember Specialist Kareem Rashad Sultan Kahn.  He was a Muslim and he died for your right to do so.
